About Michelle
All about me! I have been involved with horses for over 40 years. It all began when I kept badgering my parents for riding lessons and aged 8 they finally caved in and would sit in the Pub whilst I had lessons! This was the start of my love and journey with horses. Having had non-horsey parents, this really motivated me to learn everything about them and I would spend all day everyday up at any stables that would have me!
In the years that have followed, I have owned and loaned many horses and competed successfully in British Showjumping, British Dressage, Showing and Eventing. My competition highlight is definitely winning in the main arena at Hickstead, a memory I will always cherish. At age 18, I worked full time with a variety of horses at different professional yards. This knowledge has been invaluable and I have really enjoyed working with the trickier characters- they are a bit of an addiction!
More recently, I have taken a step back from competing and riding to support my daughter who has represented Great Britain in Dressage and to concentrate on my Shiatsu business, something I find much more enjoyable and fulfilling.
Equine Shiatsu is an all round treatment individually tailored to any horse and rider combination. I came across this incredible Alternative Medicine when a pony came down with Laminitis after a reaction to a Flu Jab. The pony was treated by the vet and by an Equine Shiatsu Practitioner- It was incredible to see the improvement before our eyes- to see how much more comfortable he was. The Vet remarked she was surprised how quickly he recovered as she didn't think he would pull through. From this moment I was hooked!
I completed my 3 Year Equine Shiatsu Diploma Course, where I studied at the School of Equine Shiatsu in West Sussex. This involved completing many many case studies which has given me a great deal of experience. My training included traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Diagnosis, Zen Shiatsu, 5 Element Theory and Diagnosis. By combining Traditional Oriental Medicine with Western Pathology and Physiology and Anatomy. Recently, I have completed my Canine Shiatsu course in Scotland and also been selected to be on the panel of the Equine Shiatsu Association.

I have successfully treated International Dressage Horses, Racehorses, Ex Racehorses, many conditions including Laminitis, Hives/ Skin Conditions, Ulcers, Hormonal Mares, Stomach problems and stiffness and Sore Backs.
On the human front, using Shiatsu, I have helped many different people dealing with Grief, Menieres, stomach issues and Emotional issues and reactions to
Vaccines, Coronavirus, Sore backs and Stiffness

Shiatsu is a gentle, relaxing all round individual treatment.
I am a patient, calm and kind Practitioner. I regularly attend CBD sessions with tESA- the Equine Shiatsu Association.
I am very lucky to be working with my passion- Horses.
The best thing about Horses, is that they are all individuals and you are always on a learning journey and no day is the same.
'No matter where life takes you,
never lose the magic of their soft nose,
gentle whicker and their breath in your ear
and just being in love with horses'
